Match a Maker
At the Maker Faire in Ghana Butterfly Works ran ‘Match a Maker’ in order to link people up who could help each other with technical advice, contacts, business advice etc. Live at the event we had some successful matches including a Ghanian business mentor who stepped up to advise young inventors and radio makers who wanted to help a local orphanage make a radio station and the makers of beautiful plastic bottle furniture who got a website for their products.
As a follow up to the event we want to give more makers a platform to offer their services or to find someone to work with or help them take their invention to the next level. In Ghana at the Maker Faire many makers filled in the ‘Match a maker’ form (see below). Please visit the two pages to see the people who areĀ looking for something and see everybody who is offering some service or product. If you want to link up and help someone on the lists please mail Butterfly Works

For those of you who would like to take part please visit the looking for and the offering for pages and see if you can offer help to upcoming inventors. As we go forward we hope to develop this into a full Africa wide platform for linking people up who can help each other. If you have any ideas or suggestions for doing this please contact Butterfly Works

Please can we have some advice / help from anyone who knows about innovations regarding rubbish collection. We are trying to clean up our village in Ghana and wish to connect with others in Africa who know about different ways to utilise collected waste and rubbish. We are planning an Art event using plastic fresh water sachets for murals, but we would also like to know more about how to use waste and celan up our environment.
Many thanks
